I went on a school trip in October. Our destination?

Kyoto and Nara--treasure troves of Japanese traditional culture!

It was a short trip, but we visited many famous sites, including Todaji temple, Horyuji temple, and Nijo Castle. It was one thing to have known about these places through textbooks, but they had such a grand presence when seen in person.

Of all the sites, Kinkakuji temple and the garden at Ikkyuji temple were the most beautiful, so I've attached photos of them. It was a really fulfilling and fun trip, even though we got in trouble for staying up late--which are the true highlight of school overnight trips, really.
