Weddings
Weddings are celebrated in various ways in Japan according to the taste and preferences of the couple and their families. The ceremony may be held in a Christian church or chapel or before the altar in a Buddhist temple or shrine. Marriage vows may be exchanged before the assembled guests in a non-religious ceremony. After the ceremony, in most cases a festive banquet is held inviting friends, benefactors, and relatives, at which the couple officially announce their marriage.
