【1】Yokai Connections

The smart phone app "Yokai Collection" was created by bringing together two seemingly unrelated things: Yokai and technology. Aida Kazunari, the developer of the app, set up a company called Yokaiya, which not only develops smart phone applications but also organises yokai events. How did this combination of old and new come about? What is he aiming to do through the Yokai app and events? Mr. Aida shares his thoughts.

Group projects: Imagine you are going to create a Yokai Collection app of your town. Create a yokai for your app. In your group, write a description in Japanese and add some illustrations.

【1】妖怪がつなげる縁

妖怪とテクノロジー。一見、つながりのない二つのものを見事に合体させた「妖怪アプリ」。開発者の相田一成さんは、「妖怪屋」という会社を設立。アプリの開発だけでなく、妖怪イベントなどを行う。日本に古くからあるものと、テクノロジーという新しいものの組み合わせは、どんなきっかけで生まれたのだろう。そして、相田さんが、アプリやイベントを通してめざすものは？　相田さんがくわしく語ってくれた。
