演劇部のためのシナリオは夜中に書きます。ぼくは、ワープロを使います。長編、短編、ショートショートなど、とにかくたくさん書いています。綾子に片思いをしていたころは、彼女のことを考えながら短編を書いたりもしました。
全体の構想を考えていていきづまり、何も書かないまま朝を迎えてしまうこともあります。書くのは好きですが、おっくうだとも感じます。締めきりがないと書けないほうで、毎回締めきりに追われています。演劇部のシナリオは基本的に書きたい人が書くことになっています。

I stay up writing a scenario for the drama club. I use a word processor. I've written a lot of scenarios--long, short, and short-short. Before Ayako and I got together, I used to think of her when I wrote short scenarios.
Sometimes I can't develop the overall scheme for the play and get stuck, with morning coming before I have anything to show. I like writing, but sometimes it's pretty arduous. I'm the type who doesn't produce anything without a deadline looming, so every time I'm under the pressure of a deadline. In our drama club, the basic rule is that anybody who wants to write a scenario is free to do so.
