Overview:
Students review, in Japanese, their own relationships with people around themselves. Students consider how these people influence them. Use the diagram from Activity 1 as a prompt.

Required language skills Must be able to read hiragana, katakana, and some beginning kanji. Should be familiar with expressions for terms of address (-san, -chan, -sensei, etc.) and words describing people's characteristics. If the Japanese level of the students is not adequate for performing the tasks in this activity in Japanese, English should also be used to ensure understanding and effective observation.
