While
encouraging students to improve their scholastic performance in general
education subjects, the Sports Course offers a unique curriculum aimed
at enhancing students' knowledge of sports as a whole, developing their
athletic skills, and fostering mental and physical toughness. Subjects
in the Sport Course's original curriculum include the following:
・Theory
of Physical Education
・Sports
I (kendo, wrestling)
・Sports II (touch football)
・Outdoor Activities (skating, skiing,
tennis)
Taking courses such as these, students
acquire a thorough knowledge of both the theoretical and applied aspects
of physical education during their three years at the high school. Osaka
Sangyo University High School has a training room equipped with the latest
exercise equipment where students can build up their basic physical strength
and stamina, and these facilities are available for all classes and club
activities.
Students enrolled in the Sports Course
are required to join one of the school's twenty-one sports clubs, and
are expected to fulfill goals set not only in classroom study but through
club activities as well.
Most graduates of the Sports
Course go on for further study at the university level utilizing their
strengths in sports. Rigorous guidance is provided for those intending
to take university entrance examinations, such as in writing short
essays. The record shows that the percentage of Sports Course graduates
who go on to university is high. |
