■Thinking about lunch

According to a report of the public relations committee of Nara University-affiliated high school, more than 70% of students at the school bring boxed lunches (bento), 15% use the school cafeteria, and the remaining 15% do both. Students give the following reasons why they bring boxed lunches: mother makes it for them, using the cafeteria is inconvenient, they enjoy opening up a boxed lunch and seeing what is inside, and they can request their favorite foods. The basic types of foods packed in boxed lunches are rolled egg, sausages, meat, and fried chicken. Students who use the cafeteria give the following reasons: it is convenient, they like eating a hot lunch, they can meet their friends there, and they can choose what they like to eat. Students choose what they eat based on how they feel that day.
