Hello!
My name is Kaishin. I'm fourteen years old and will be turning
15 this year in May. I live in Sydney, Australia in a small
suburb called Gordon. I am currently in Killara High School
year 10 and I am learning all the compulsory school subjects
along with Japanese and computing studies. My favorite subject
would be computing studies because my teacher is very nice
and does not mind if you are doing something that is not
related to schoolwork, such as playing computer games or
checking e-mail! History, English and math are my least
favorite subjects because the teachers usually just give
tons and tons of homework and teach extremely boring things.
There are four people
in my family; my parents, my younger sister and me. As you
may have guessed, my name suggests that I am Japanese although
I am actually half-Japanese. My dad is Japanese and was
born in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan. The grandparents
of my dad's side currently are living in Shiga prefecture
of Japan. They have recently moved to this new house and
my dad visited them to see if things were OK. When he came
back he told me that they had a bathtub that tells you when
its full and a toilet that has a heated seat and washes
your rear end! My dad's side aunts and cousins are also
all living in Japan.
My mother is Chinese
and was born in Singapore. She has many brothers and sisters
meaning that I have many aunts, uncles and cousins! (I'm
even an uncle to two really cute baby nephews!) Since I
visit Singapore and Japan almost every year I knew all of
my aunts and uncles before I can remember. Having Chinese
origins means that I also have a Chinese name which I use
as my middle name and on Chinese new year I also get to
receive new year money (a Chinese tradition). I also get
the Japanese equivalent of Chinese New Year money (
otoshidama).
So that means that every new year I get quite a lot of money!
The only relatives that live in Australia are one of my
mother's side uncle, aunt and cousin. Although they live
in Australia I do not usually see them much because they
live quite far away.
