朝9時。徹夜明けで目がつかれている。「徹夜したら顔きたないわー」だそうです。
9 A.M. He looks haggard after staying up all night. "I look like crud after an all-nighter!" he remarks.
お兄ちゃんとケンカをしてるから、家に帰るのは朝方。この日は久しぶりにお兄ちゃんがいないから、親子3人と犬１匹で家族だんらん。
Since he's on bad terms with his older brother, he only goes home in the morning. For a change, his brother wasn't at home this day, so I could photograph him with most of his family circle—his mother, father, and dog.
ご飯を食べたあとは、つまようじで頭皮をマッサージ。ドレッドも楽じゃない‥‥。
After eating, he uses toothpicks to massage his scalp. It ain't easy having dreads.
*dreads: A hairstyle of bunched up locks, matted together with wax or perming lotion.
毎日いっしょに遊んでいる友だち。いやな男どもと思ったら、変な子ばっかり。「何かして」と言ったら、みんなで手パタパタして鳥のまねをやっていた。変な人たち。
The friends he hangs out with every night. Contrary to what you might expect, they're not troublemakers, just a bunch of oddballs. I said, "Do something!" so they all flapped their hands doing bird impersonations. They're just weird.
コンビニ前で夕食。くそ寒い中、うれしそうにスプーンをかじる。おっさんみたいなカオやね。
Dinner in front of the convenience store. It's bitter cold, but he looks happy biting on his spoon. He reminds me of an old geezer with that expression.

   最近、兄とケンカをして家に帰りづらい。だから毎日、家に帰らず、外で友だちと遊んだり、友だちの家にとまっています。親が心配しているのが、とても心苦しいです。だから早く仲直りをして、家に帰ろうと思っています。
   今はつらいけど、いつも一緒にいてくれる友だちがいて、支えになってくれる彼女がいます。それがとても幸せなことだと思っています。これから進路のことを考えなくてならないけど、自分のことでせいいっぱいにならないで、周りのことも考えられるようになりたい。

I've been fighting with my older brother recently, so it's not easy to go home. Instead of going home, I stay out every day and have fun with my friends, or stay over at one of their houses. It really bothers me to think how my parents are worrying about me, so I've been thinking about making up with my brother soon so I can go home.
      Things are hard right now, but I have friends who are always there for me and a girlfriend who supports me. That makes me very happy. Pretty soon I'm going to have to start thinking about where I'm headed. I know I can't just be thinking about myself; I've got to think of the people around me, too.
