Hey!!
I'm Vicki. Pleased to meet you. I'm the one with black
hair, which is sometimes curly, or straight, or giant and
messy (on a bad hair day!). I'm the one with the glasses,
or contacts! I like to change my style as you can see.
You'll usually spot me around, as I'm the girl that's always
laughing!
I guess I'm here to
tell you about ME, ME, ME, ME, ME, MEE!
I like things short,
but sophisticated, so here I go. Bear with me.
I've grown up in the
small town of Levin, a place in the borderline of existence
(No, I'm joking!). I live down in the South Pacific Ocean,
where a small country is tucked away, called the "Land
Of The Long White Cloud". Sounds mystical doesn't it? Well,
everyone here doesn't really call it six words long—it's
just called New Zealand, or Aotearoa. Lets just call it
New Zealand for now, or I'll have to keep on spell-checking
Aotearoa on my computer!
New Zealand has two
main islands. One is called, this is very easy to pronounce,
the North Island, and the other is called, South Island.
That's just commonsense. And, there are also many islands
scattered around--Kapiti Island, Chatham Island, Stuart
Island… and so on.
I love my country.
Okay, that sounded… cheesy. Very. But, I do! New Zealand's
different from other places, because of the atmosphere,
the environment. Lush, emerald bush with pearls of water,
bubbling crystal blue waterfalls… but most of all, sheep.
You got it, everywhere there's sheep. Well I'm not complaining.
Of course not. But there's sheep there, here, basically
wherever you've got grass, you've got gentle, (stinky),
fluffy sheep! Okay, I may be dramatizing, since I don't
see sheep in my backyard, but this country is known for
one thing--sheep, well besides gumboots and Watties tomato
sauce on mince pies that is! Yummy!
I don't know how I'll
manage to put my life in a couple hundred words. But I'll
try to make it possible with shortcuts and everything I
can think of.
My name is Vicki. And
it's spelt with a "I" at the end, NOT a "y," thank you
very much!
I'm past the age of
13 (yay!), but not even on the age of 15, and I know how
to drive (well, no… well yes, well… half, make that a quarter!
At least that got your attention!). Lets just say I can
do terrible bunny hops, and I'm a very bad driver!
I like to draw, just
give me a pencil, pen, felt pen… anything that I can draw
with, some paper--and off I'll go and start scribbling.
Some people call me crazy, but to me, it is pure art!
My music style ranges
from classical music to rock music. I play classical music
mainly on the piano, but I don't really enjoy listening
to it. I like listening to rock music, or whatever that
suits my mood. My favourite bands include; Creed, Audioslave,
System Of A Down, Simple Plan, Green Day, Yellowcard, and
screeds more.
I play the piano. This
is my 7th year playing that instrument! I am hoping to
pass my final grade at the end of this year. I used to
play the violin for a few months or so, but I stopped playing
as I found it difficult… and my teacher retired. I have
also started learning the guitar, as my rock band needs
another guitarist. My new band have just formed last year,
and we've only got together for a practice a few times
so far.
I enjoy running and
playing soccer. I don't really like swimming (swimming
laps, that is!), and I am not really a fan of heights.
But if I'm feeling crazy, rock-climbing or something adventurous
is fine.
I have 4 people in
my family. I live with my Nana, Father, Mother, and a little
brother (if you think a 11 years old is little!). I used
to have a pet turtle (sadly, he died), and many, many fish,
but now I only have one fish. He, or she, has no name.
I have forgotten! Also, I used to have a pet bunny. His
name was Buttons. But then we had to give him away because
he ate the vegetables in the greenhouse next door!
I am of Chinese descent.
My Mum and Dad are from China, they were born there, in
the south of China. My mother came from the city of Guangzhou,
and my father from the country, Canton. They met, and moved
to New Zealand. And I was born in New Zealand, so was my
brother. I speak Chinese and English, both fluently. This
is my second year of learning Japanese. I want to continue
learning Japanese, and I hope to excel in the language,
which may open a career that has something to do with that
language. I am also quite interested in learning Spanish,
as I have relations from Peru.
My parents own a vegetable
farm. Sometimes I go and help out (especially with driving
tractors!). It's very hard work though! They grow many
vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, potatoes,
and many more.
I like to travel. I
have been to China about three times, and the year before
last, I went to America, and Canada. I also have relations
living there. I've been to Australia twice, but they were
mainly stop-overs from the plane trip. I can finally say
I've been to Disneyland in Los Angeles though! It was sad,
I now regret it, that I didn't even go on the big roller
coasters! I wish I could go back, and go on every one of
them. I would love to visit Hollywood and Las Vegas again.
I miss all my relatives from China, America, Canada, Peru,
Australia. But I would definitely love to visit Japan (hint,
hint!).
When someone asks me
about the future, I probably start rambling on about something
random. You might be able to tell, I don't really know
what to do when I finish college. But I know that I would
like to go to university, at least. I'm considering for
a career maybe in arts? Music? But I think I should give
law a go. I enjoy English, and I like speaking. What's
there to lose? Or something unexpected could come across
my path during college. I did consider to be a photographer
and travel, maybe as a part-time or hobby, but now, I don't
know what I will want to be. I remember when I was little
I wanted to be a princess in a castle! Some things are
just left for fairytales, don't you think?
So, ladies and gentlemen,
this is my life. (And don't think I've finished writing,
this is only a brief glimpse into the fabulous (Ha!) life
of me!)
