Self-introduction
My name is Edison. I'm a
junior at CK High School, and am seventeen years old. I live
in Washington State. I will have studied Japanese for four
years by the time I finish this school year. I like JAVA programming
and anime. I'd like to tell you about my favorite
place, song, hobby, and food.
Favorite Place
When I was living in Japan, Sarujima
(Monkey Island) was my favorite place. It's a place I like
more than any other place in the world. It's a very mysterious
place. It is quiet there in the daytime, but at night you
can hear the cries of monkeys. My friends were all interested
in the island, too, so we went to visit. The island was very
clean, with not a piece of garbage in sight. We walked around
the island looking for monkeys but we couldn't find any. For
a year, I visited the island to look for monkeys (?). The
beaches on Sarujima are huge. The ocean is chilly
and the water is clear. Sarujima remains a mystery.
Favorite Song
I've liked singing since I was in junior
high school. I'm always singing. For example, I sing when
I'm in the shower, or when I'm studying, or when I'm taking
a walk. In junior high school, I became a member of a chorus
group. Though I wasn't able to join the chorus this year because
of my tight schedule, I carry my CD walkman around everywhere
I go. My favorite Japanese band is Orange Range. I don't like
English songs very much.
Hobby
I like many sports, but I'm not very good
at them. Sometimes I play basketball with my friends. Afterwards,
we eat a light meal and play video games. We become completely
absorbed in the games for four to eight hours straight. (But
when I'm playing at friends' houses, their parents come to
stop us.) That's my ideal day.
Favorite Food
My favorite food is shrimp omelettes. I like to make them
whenever I have the chance. First, you need eggs, shrimp,
and black pepper. Beat the eggs and mix in the shrimp, and
sprinkle in a little bit of pepper. Put everything in a pan.
When everything begins to brown, take the omelette out of
the pan and put cheese on it. Sometimes when I make omelettes,
I put vegetables and meat in them. I think this omelette is
the best when you don't put any extra condiments on it. But
if you'd like, you can add some sauce.
I hope that one day, I'll get a chance to visit Japan.
