My name is Weiwei. I’m a
second year student in humanities in high school. Even though I’m a girl, I hate
crying. I’m not a person with a lovely face, but I think that I’m very kind-hearted.
Sports are my biggest weak spot, but I love taking leisurely walks. I am glad
there is a park near my house. Whenever I go walking there, I can enjoy nature.
I think that when humans were put into nature, they can think about their lives
and their lifestyles, and, out of a feeling of gratitude, continue to protect
nature. And, along with receiving the benefits, human beings leave masterpieces
in the fields of science, literature, and others. I think “becoming one with
nature, your sadness and loneliness will vanish. Looking at the endless sky will
refresh your mind. Living like this is good.”
I’m interested in Japan’s culture. That’s
why I chose to study Japanese. It really resembles parts of Chinese culture.
Of course, there are places where they differ too. Not only understanding those
things that are the same and the things that are different, I also want to know
about the world of the heart of the Japanese people. I read Yukiguni (Snow Country),
one of the masterpieces of Kawabata Yasunari, who received the Nobel Prize for
Literature. I don’t fully understand yet, but I think I could feel the sensitiveness
of Japanese people.
I like anime. As far as Japan’s anime is
concerned, I like Naruto the best. I can clearly remember the main character’s
lines. For example, “I won’t break my word so easily.” (Naruto) “When a person
has something precious to protect, that is when they can become truly strong”
(Haku) “The one thing I can’t forgive above anything else is if you make fun
of my friends.” (Choji) Also, I think I resemble Rock Lee in a way. Like him,
I’m not a genius, and I don’t have a good looking face. But, my mother and my
teachers always tell me “You’re probably not a smart kid, but up until now, you’ve
done your best.” Even when I fail, I may feel like giving up, those words come
to mind, and the courage to try my best until the end quickly springs up inside
of me. Also, I understand that if you don’t try your best, there surely won’t
be a chance. I want to see if I can become an excellent person if I put forth
all my effort.
Both my mother and my father want my dreams
to come true. That’s what you could call the dream of parents. Over the years,
they’ve always encouraged and supported me. Everyone in my family is precious
to me. As long as I’m near my family I’m happy. The unfortunate thing is that
by the time I clearly realize this, I had already lost my grandfather. When I
was seven, my grandfather left me in an accident. I didn’t understand anything
then. I thought “death” was just a far away place. Not knowing the true meaning
of that word, I wasn’t very sad at all. When I finally understood the meaning
of “gone forever,” I blamed myself that hadn’t understood then. And, from then
on, I treasured my family more than anything else. I have one cat at my house.
It’s a very cute and intolerable cat. Already, Mimi (my cat) has become a precious
member of my family.
In one year, I’ll be taking a very important
test. For the sake of our own goals, everyone’s been helping each other out and
doing our best. What kind of picture the future will paint is still undecided.
All we know now is that the road before us will be opened with our own hands.
This is me. Just like everyone else, I’m
a high school student who loves life and just wants a beautiful life. |
