To make commuting to school easier, I rented a room near my school. This is that room. This is my world. I’ve got all sorts of things that I love here, like my posters of Conan, Doraemon, and dolls that I’ve had for five years now. Here, there’s no pressure about commuting to school, I can’t hear the noise and clamor from outside, all year round it’s like spring, and no one cares if I laugh loud or cry to my heart’s content. I control everything in this room as I see fit. Every morning, the sunlight from the window gives me hope. Knowing that the most important thing in one’s life is what kind of person you are, rather than what you have, I can be happy.

Sports aren’t really my forte. I’m 175 cm tall, but my results in gym are always average. I don’t like running, but because I want to stay healthy, everyday I use a walking machine to make sure I get enough exercise. I’ve been using it for a long time, so it’s indispensable in my life, almost like a friend who waits for me to come every day. I talk about my feelings, but this walking machine is very patient, and silently listens to all of my stories. When it snows or rains, I make sure to cover it in a big cotton cloth. For me, it’s almost like it’s a living thing, because it showed me what kind of thing the friend who can truly understand me is. No matter when it is, it’s always close to my heart.

Whenever I’m not feeling well, I like to find an open space and yell up at the sky. I let it all out, letting my voice carry all my disappointments with my life and the world, sending them at 340 meters/second with the sound to the moon, to the lonely and sad moon, to tell there are the pains that I can’t bear on the earth, and I hear the moon’s wish to change places with us. At that time, I realize that my pains are small, and that I really do love this world.

This old computer has lots of troubles, but I treasure it because it connects me to the world. Surfing online is almost like going inside an encyclopedia. The moment you think of something, it can satisfy your thirst for knowledge and curiosity. People from all sorts of different cities and countries around the world can read the same articles, listen to the same music, as well as meet and get to know other people. Once you enter it you can’t help but be amazed. |
