私のいぬ。いぬのなまえはアビイです。

My dog Abbey. She is a black Labrador retriever and she is eight years old.

おとうとさんとちちと私。おとうととちちとキヤンプにいきます。

My Brother, Dad, and Me, before they go to Camp. My Brother, Eric, and my Dad go to Camp every summer. My Mom and I stay home and do things we can’t do when my Dad and Brother are home.

おばといとことははと私。かぞくでクリスマスをいわいます。

My Aunt, Cousin, Mom, and Me, at Christmas. My Aunt’s name is Sara; she is my Mom’s sister. The baby in the picture is my cousin, her name is Molly. We took this picture at my Grandma’s house at Christmas. My family gets together for almost all holidays.

Me before a formal dance. Our High School has a formal dance every year called Kings Daughter’s Dance, for this the Girls ask the Boys to the Dance. I asked one of my friends to the dance.

Me at my Conformation. To be an adult member of my Church you need to go through a process called Conformation, which you make in High School. Everyone in my family is Catholic, and for me to be apart of this religion I needed to be confirmed, meaning I chose to be apart of my family’s religion. After the Ceremony my family came to my house for cake.

My School Picture. Every year before the first day of school we register at school and get are pictures taken. I go to Menasha High School, and I am a junior.

My friends and me, at a swim meet. I am on swim team at school and we took this picture after one of our swim meets. I have been swimming for along time, I started when I was seven. I really enjoy it, and now I teach swimming lessons.

EのつかないANN

  わたしはアン・エリザベスです。母エリザベス・アンの名をとってつけられました。父、母、弟エリックと犬のアビーといっしょに住んでいます。3歳まではニーナに住んでいて、この家には14年前から住んでいます。わたしはとてもおとなしく、恥ずかしがりやです。
  家は、4人家族にちょうどいい大きさです。お気に入りは自分の部屋です。わたしのものや思い出の品でいっぱいだからです。自分の部屋にいることが多く、1人になりたいときもここで過ごします。窓は2つあり、午後になるとたくさん日が差し込んできます。次に好きなのは地下室。暗い居間という感じですが、いつも寒いです。お気に入りの映画は地下室に置いてあり、友だちが来るといっしょに地下室へ行きます。そうすれば家族に干渉されずにすむからです。
  ペンギンがとても好きで集めています。年代モノのデザインや1920年代から50年代にかけての古い広告なども気に入っています。お気に入りのデザインはお財布に描かれたパイナップルの広告です。「島の女王」と書かれています。おもしろくてためになる当時の格言を集め、自分らしくいるために読みかえしています。すべて好きな格言なので、特にお気に入りのものはありません。
  わたしはメナーシャ高校の3年生。小さな高校ですが、まあいいと思います。特に好きな科目はありませんが、英語と美術は気に入っています。1日8コマ、週5日授業があります。その前はメープルウッド中学校とクロビス・グローブ小学校に通っていました。制服はないので、たいていジーンズ、Tシャツとトレーナーを着ています。
  学校に行っていなかったら旅行をしていると思います。アメリカ国内をはじめ、小学校以来、日本語を勉強しているので、日本にも旅行しました。お気に入りの街は和歌山です。なぜなら熱帯性の気候でとても暖かかったからです。いずれはオーストラリアとヨーロッパに行く予定です。ヨーロッパ全土をまわって名所や旧跡を訪ねたいです。
  趣味は水泳で、10年やっています。小さいころ、祖父母の家にプールがあり、夏になるとずっと泳いだものです。今は学校のチームに所属していて、来年はキャプテンの1人になる予定です。夏になると水泳を教えたり、プールで働いたりしています。いい人たちばかりなので、楽しく働いています。
  時間があるときは読書、音楽鑑賞や映画鑑賞をしています。お気に入りの本は「赤毛のアン」、「若草物語」と「黄金の羅針盤」です。ビートルズをはじめ、ボブ・ディラン、ローリング・ストーンズ、サイモン＆ガーファンクルも好きです。自作自演のアーティストが好きですね。気に入っている映画は「エバー・アフター」「ザ・ロイヤル・テネンバウムズ」「プリティ・イン・ピンク（恋人たちの街角）」です。好きなゲームはドミノとアップル・トゥ・アップルです。テレビ番組では「ザット’70sショー」、「シンプソンズ」と「フレンズ」が好きです。
  週末の午前中は仕事をして、午後に宿題をやります。ときどき夜、出かけることもあります。仕事は、YMCAで水泳を教えたり、監視員をしたりしています。日曜の朝は家族と教会へ行き、宿題があれば勉強、または買い物に出かけます。好きなお店はターゲット、アメリカン・イーグルなどです。祖母の家へときどき出かけることもあります。親戚も近くに住んでいるので、よく会います。小さい家族ですが、気に入っています。
  わたしは長女で一人っ子です。両親にとっては第一子であり唯一の娘、祖父母にとっても初孫で唯一の孫娘です。初のひ孫でもあるのです。ほかにわたしの特徴は、苦いチョコレートとパイナップルが大好きで、金よりも銀のものが好きだということ。好きな色は紫です。病院よりも歯医者が好きです。尊敬しているのはエリザベス1世、ジャンヌ・ダルク、アメリア・ブルーマー、アメリア・イアハートです。大いに触発され、他人にどう思われても構わないということを学びました。
  もっと料理したりスクラップブック作りやガーデニングを楽しんだりする時間がほしいです。料理は好きで、レシピもたくさん持っていますが、なかなか使う機会がありません。写真やスクラップブックのネタもたくさんありますが、始めるには時間が必要です。ガーデニングは今はやっていませんが、将来はぜひやりたいです。リフォームやガーデニングの切り抜きはずっと続けていて、いずれ自分の家をもったらそれを参考にしたいです。将来は理学療法士か歯科衛生士になりたいです。

Ann without an E

My name is Ann Elizabeth. I am named after my mom, Elizabeth Ann. I live with my dad, mom, younger brother Eric, and dog Abbey. I have lived in the same house for fourteen years and I lived in Neenah until I was about three years old. I have always been a very quiet and shy person.
        My house is medium sized for a medium sized family. My favorite room in our house is my room because it is full of my things and memories. I do a lot of things in my room, and stay in it when I want to be alone. It has two windows and gets a lot of sunlight in the afternoon. My second favorite room is our basement. It is like a small darker living room, but it is always very cold though. I keep all of my favorite movies downstairs, and when my friends come over I like to bring them downstairs so my family will not bother us.
        I am a lover and collector of penguins. Another thing I collect is vintage print items or things with old ads on them from the 20’s to 50’s. My favorite vintage print item is my purse it has an ad for pineapples on it, and says Island Queen. I like to save interesting or inspiring quotes or sayings to help on those days where I just need a reminder to be myself. I don’t have a favorite one, because they are all favorites.
        I go to Menasha High School. I am a junior, meaning I am in my third year. It is a small school, but it’s okay. I don’t have a favorite class. I do like my English class and Art though. I have eight classes a day, five days a week. I went Maplewood Middle School and to Clovis Grove Elementary School. I do not have to wear a school uniform; I usually wear blue jeans, a T-shirt, and sweatshirt to school.
        If I wasn’t in school I would be traveling. I have been all over the states, even abroad to Japan. I was allowed this opportunity due to taking Japanese since grade school. My favorite city while there was Wakayama, because it was tropical and really warm. I plan on continuing to travel and hope to go to Australia and Europe. I would love to go all over Europe to see all the famous sites and historical landmarks.
        One of my hobbies is swimming which I have been doing for ten years. My grandparents had a pool when I was younger. I spent many summer hours over there. I’m on the team at school, and will be one of the captains next year. I teach swimming lessons and work at the pool in the summer. I like working there because of the people. They make working a lot of fun.
        In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching movies. Some of my favorite books are Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and the Golden Compass. I’m a Beatles fan and I also enjoy music by Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, and Simon & Garfunkel. I like it when the musicians write their own music. Some of my favorite movies are Ever After, the Royal Tenenbaums, and Pretty in Pink. My favorite games are Dominos, and Apples to Apples. My favorite television shows are That 70’s Show, The Simpsons, and Friends.
        On the weekend I work in the morning, then will try to do homework in the afternoon and sometimes I will go out at night. I work at the YMCA, teaching swimming lessons and guarding. On Sunday morning my family and I will go to church, and then if I have more homework I will work on that or go shopping. Some of my favorite stores are Target, American Eagle, and others. Sometimes we will walk over to my grandma’s house to visit. All of my family lives very close, so I see everyone a lot. My family is very small, but I like it.
        Something unique about me is I’m a first and only. I’m my parent’s first and only daughter, my grandparent’s first and only granddaughter, and I was the first great grand child. Some other unique things about me are: I like dark chocolate, pineapple, and I prefer silver things rather than gold. My favorite color is purple. I also would prefer to go to the dentist rather than doctor. Some of the women I admire most are Elizabeth the First, Joan of Arc, Amelia Bloomer, and, Amelia Earheart. They have all inspired me to be myself, taught me that it doesn’t really matter what others think.
        I wish I had more time to cook, scrapbook, and garden. I enjoy cooking and have a lot of recipes, but I don’t really get a chance to use them. I have a lot of pictures and things to start scrapbooking, but I need to find the time to start. I don’t garden now, but I wish I did and would like to in the future. I am constantly tearing out articles on home improvement or gardens to get ideas or references when I have a house of my own. Speaking of the future I am thinking of being either a physical therapist or dental hygienist.
