This is a picture of my friend and me. We are best friends. Her name is Kari, and we spend a lot of time together. We are sitting in front of a fireplace at Kari's house. As you can see, they have lots of cowboy decorations at their house. They have more cowboy decorations throughout their house.

This is a picture of my friend Kari. She is in my room. At almost any time, she is either at my house or I am at her house. In the picture she is holding a drawing I made for her.

This is my friend and her car. She has her driver's license so she can drive. She always wears her seatbelt and so do I. I ride with her most of the time. I don't drive because I don't have my own car.

This is Kari with two of my cats. The cat in front of Kari is named Jazz. The cat to the right of Kari is named Smiley. One of Smiley's nicknames is Big Guy. Kari loves cats. She owns twelve at her. They are many different colors and sizes including orange and gray tabbies, all black, and calico. Her cats are all outside cats like my cats, but on some occasions a few of the cats can come in the house for an hour or two.

This is Kari's dog, named Pandy. Pandy is a collie. She is brown, tan, and white. She has a very long nose, which she uses to poke anyone she greets. Her neck hair isn't long due to an attack by a neighbor dog.

This is Kari's other dog named Ceasar. Ceasar is a black lab. He is about thirteen years old so he is old for a dog. Ceasar is my favorite dog. I enjoy petting him and playing with him when I go to Kari's house.

This is Kari with two of her cats. She has twelve cats total. The cat to the right is named Chica. The cat the left is named Blackie. Chica is a gray and black tabby, and Blackie is all black with a little white on his chest and stomach. My favorite cat is Blackie because he is very friendly and loves to play.

This is Kari's horse named Jack. Jack is brown with black mane, tail and socks. He is my favorite horse. jack is cute, isn't he? He is a very sweet horse. I gave him some lettuce so he loves me. Kari used to ride Jack in shows, but now he is too fat and he has arthritis in his joints. Jack is loved by anyone who meets him.

This is Kari's horse named AppleJack. AppleJack's nickname is Apple. He is an appaloosa, which is gray with lots of brown and black spots. They also have a short tail compared to other horses. Kari rides Apple at many horse shows and fairs. She also rides Apple on trail rides. Kari's favorite hobby is riding her horses. She has four horses. Their names are Cash, Lovenote, Jack, and AppleJack.

   All About Me
My name is Rachel. I was born in River Falls, Wisconsin on August 28th, 1986. I am seventeen years old. I currently live in River Falls, Wisconsin. I am about five feet, nine inches tall. I have light brown hair and blue eyes. I wear glasses because I am nearsighted. I need them to see the board at school and to help me see when I am driving. My favorite colors are blue, yellow, and black. My favorite animal is a cat. I have six cats at the moment. Two of my cats are expecting kittens soon. There are four females and two males. The females' names are Cleo, Little Buddy, Gandalf the Grey Cat, and Jazz. The males' names are Smiley and Jiji. Jiji was named after the cat on Kiki's Delivery Service. Cleo is a tortoiseshell color, Little Buddy is a grey tabby, Gandalf is a fluffy grey, Jazz is a combination of an orange and grey tabby, Smiley is a grey tabby with white paws and belly, and Jiji is all black. I used to have a dog, named Mandy who was a white and reddish-brown Springer Spaniel.
      I come from a family of five. My family includes my mom, my dad, two brothers, and me. I am the youngest of the children. My mom and dad are both forty-five years old. Their names are Robin and Jim. My oldest brother Jesse is twenty-four. My other brother is going to be twenty in May. My mother works at a company called The Hartford. The Hartford deals mostly with insurance. My dad works as a floor installation specialist. He works for our family company called H&F Home Furnishings, which is run by my grandparents, aunt and uncles. The H&F sells furniture, flooring like carpet and tile, and window treatments like shades and blinds. My brother Jesse works at a company called Audio video Planners (AVP). AVP helps build audio systems in commercial and residential buildings. My brother helps install and market. My other brother Jason works for Linehan Construction. He helps the workers build at home sites. I currently don't have a job. I am planning to get a job this summer to help pay for my bass guitar and a car.
      I have been to many different states and one other country. I started out when I was only two years old. My family drove to Florida. We went to Disneyland, but I don't remember anything from the trip. Since then I have traveled to many other states. I have been to Arizona at least five times. I visit both of my grandparents who live there in the winter. I have been all over Arizona. Two years ago I went to the Grand Canyon. We went there on a beautiful sunny day. It was very busy, but it was fun. We also went to a meteor crater. It was very interesting. We also visited a volcanic crater. I had no idea that there were any volcanoes in Arizona. Luckily, it was an extinct volcano. We also went to Sedona. Sedona is a town that is surrounded by beautiful large red rock formations. There was one rock formation called Snoopy Rock, and it looked just like Snoopy sleeping on his doghouse. Many famous celebrities live there. We drove to Mexico from Arizona once. We only went there for a day. I have also driving to Wyoming twice. The first time I went with my grandma, grandpa, and my cousin. The second time I went was last summer vacation. I went with my friend and her parents. This summer vacation my friend and I are planning a road trip. We don't know exactly where we are going yet. In eighth grade I went to our nations capital, Washington D.C. We went there with a school program so I was with many of my classmates. my grandma also went with to help chaperone. My grandma loves to travel. I try to go with her if I can. I've also been to Utah, Ohio, and the city of Chicago, but I was only there because I had a layover at the airport to a different city. I would love to visit Hawaii. I also plan to go to Japan to study if I go to college.
      I have many hobbies. I love to read. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series. My favorite one is the third one called the Prisoner of Azkaban. I like to read fantasy and science fiction books. I also enjoy historical fiction and westerns. I like the Lord of the Rings. I am in the process of reading the second one called The Two Towers. I love to watch movies. I have many favorite movies. My ultimate favorite movie changes all the time. My favorites are all of the Star Wars movies, Moulin Rouge, Big Fish, The Lord of the Rings movies, Down with Love, Black Hawk Down, Spirited Away, and many other movies. I have seen the The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King three times. I currently own fifty-four DVDs. I will make my collection bigger until they come out with another movie format. My favorite actor is Ewan McGregor. My favorite actress is Nicole Kidman.
      I love cats. I have lots of cat collectibles. My room is decorated with lots of cat things. My wallpaper has cats and boos on it. I have lots of pictures of my cats in my room. If my relatives need to get me something for Christmas or my birthday, all they need to get me is something that has to do with cats. Maybe someday I will have a job that has to do with cats like a vet.
      I'm in concert band at school. I play the trombone. I have been playing the trombone for six years. During eighth grade I was in marching band. I'm not in it any more. I'm also in pep band. We play at games for basketball, wrestling, and sometimes hockey. My grandma enjoys listening to me. I'm getting better at playing now. With lots of practice I know I will become a lot better. Maybe someday I will be a professional trombone player. I was in a solo and ensemble competition twice. The first time I did a solo and the second time I did a duet with a friend. Recently, I have taken up playing the bass guitar. I am not very good at it yet. I would like to play in the school jazz band either with my trombone or my bass guitar.
      Not only do I like making music; I also like listening to it too. I like to listen to just about any style except for hip-hop and rap. I mostly enjoy rock and classical. My favorite band is Metallica. My brothers also like listening to Metallica. My other favorite bands are Evanescence, The offspring, and Linkin Park. I also like listening to soundtracks from my favorite movies like Star Wars and Moulin Rouge.
      My favorite classes are band and Japanese. Next year I am taking more art classes. Since I like to read and write, I'm also taking more English classes like Creative Writing and Humor.
      I like to draw. I'm not the greatest but my friends think I'm good. I've gotten a few awards for my drawings. My older brother Jesse likes to draw too. I like to draw cats, people, dragons, elves, and fairies. I also like to draw people and animals in anime style.
      I like to play video games. I have a Playstation and a Playstation 2. I only have two games for Playstation 2. They are Final Fantasy X and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings. I plan to get a lot more. I have borrowed a few games from my friend and from my brothers. My favorite game is Final Fantasy X. I plan to get the next Final Fantasy game soon.
      I love to be with my friends. I go over to my best friend's house all the time. Her name is Kari. She lives with her mom and dad. All of her siblings have moved out. She has four horses. There names are Jack, Applejack, Cash, and Love Note. Jack is all brown; Applejack is grey with brown and black spots. Cash is dark brown with a white face and white socks, and Love Note is a brown and white paint. Jack is my favorite horse. Kari also has two dogs. Their names are Caesar and Pandy. Caesar is a black lab and Pandy is a Collie. Kari also has twelve cats. I don't know all their names, but my favorite is Blackie. He is a black cat with a few white spots on his chest and stomach. Kari and I are always together. About every weekend I stay over night at her house or she stays at mine. We stay up late into the night watching movies and playing video games. We love to play video games together. We play racing games and see who wins. Right now we both win about the same amount of races. Her dad sometimes plays with us. He's not good at all. We still go trick-or-treating together. We don't get a lot of candy. We try to leave that for the younger children. We are both in the 4-H club together. She does a lot of events with her horses. We love to go to movies together. Sometimes on Fridays we go to the movie theatre and maybe see two movies. Our favorite movies we've been to lately are Big Fish, Hidalgo, and Secret Window. Last September we went to St. Paul, Minnesota, and saw Good Charlotte in concert. We stayed out really late and had lots of fun. The only thing that wasn't fun was we lost one of the guys we traveled with so we didn't get to get a tour T-shirt, we were too busy looking for the lost guy. Sometimes when we are bored we will go out for a drive around town. We may go to a store and look at things and not buy anything that we see. We are both usually short on cash. She also doesn't have a job. We are going to try to find a job together this summer.
      My plans for my future are not set in stone. I don't know exactly what I am going to do yet. When I was younger I wanted to be a vet. Now I'm not so sure. It takes many years of college and I wouldn't be able to see hurt animals or I'd be too sad when I see someone's pet die. I also wanted to be an architect. When I took Geometry class I realized I wouldn't like doing it because I do not like math. Now I want to be in the movie business. I would like to work behind the scenes. I don't know exactly what thought. I've narrowed it down to either being a costume designer since I like to draw and design or I want to do animation. I would like to animate with drawings or with computer. I love to see how graphics are made on movies; I wouldn't mind working on the graphics myself. I would also like to keep playing my trombone and maybe be in a symphony orchestra. I could record music for movies also. I don't know where I want to go to school after high school. If I go to college in Madison, Wisconsin, I want to study for a few months in Japan. I don't know if I want to get married and have kids. If the right person comes along we will see what happens. When I retire I would like to move to Arizona in the winter. I would also like to travel around the world like my grandma and grandpa.
