わたしはマジェラ。でもみんなからは「ジャム」って呼ばれています。15歳で、ヤロウェヤーという小さな町の農場に住んでいます。
   生まれてからずっと農場に暮らしていて、家族で交代しながら牛の乳しぼりをやっています。動物は好きですが、牛はにおうのであまり好きではありません。
   学校は近くのコブラムという町にあります。学校まではスクールバスで45分です。学校の名前は「クライスト・ザ・キング・アングリカン・カレッジ」。妹も同じ学校です。小ぢんまりした学校ですが、そのほうがクラスの人数が少ないので気に入っています。うちのクラスは全部で14人。学校全体で105人ぐらいです。先生や生徒に恵まれて学校生活は楽しいです。
   好きな科目は美術、調理実習、日本語と英語です。自分の創造力を生かせるし、言語も好きだからです。
   うちは9人家族です。兄弟が4人、姉妹2人、母、父、そしてわたしです。今いっしょに住んでいるのは母、父、妹とわたしだけです。兄や姉はみな独立していますが、よく帰ってきてくれます。
   趣味はラテン・アメリカンダンス、買い物、映画や音楽鑑賞です。ラテン・アメリカンダンスは週1回習っていて、シェパートンまで出かけます。家族もときどき習っています。コブラムからシェパートンまで80キロ、40分ぐらいかかります。いろいろなグループがあって、わたしはソシアル部門に属しています。いわゆる社公的な部門で楽しいです。もうひとつは「メダル部門」で、そこの人たちは真剣に練習しています。優勝した人もいるほどです。
   地元のリッチーズIGAスーパーでアルバイトもしています。週2日ですが、おこづかいかせぎにはよいです。でも貯金もするようにしています。日にもよりますが、3時間から8時間働いています。仕事はレジや棚卸しです。時給は8ドルです。
   先ほども書きましたが、映画鑑賞、買い物、音楽鑑賞やパーティーが好きです。ほかの女の子と同じですね。お気に入りの映画は「ゾルダン★星人」「グリース」「コヨーテ・アグリー」「クリスティーナの好きなコト」です。好きなアーティストはデルタ・グッドレム、ロビー・ウィリアムス、エンリケ・イグレシアスです。みんな今、オーストラリアで人気です。
   わたしは明るくて楽しいタイプだと思います。学校の女子の中では特に「女の子女の子」しているかもしれません。フレンドリーで親切、ニコニコしているタイプです。人生そのものが好きです。
   自分の人生においてはできる限りのことを達成したいです。自分のやり方がうまくいかないといやになりますが、比較的早く立ち直って次へ進めます。いらいらしたり心配したりするタイプではなく、どちらかというと楽観的にとらえるほうです。でも皮肉な面を見せることもあります。物事にはできるだけ時間をかけて、ストレスを感じないようにしています。

My name is Majella, however my friends know me as "Jam". I am 15 years old. I live on a Dairy farm in a small town called Yarroweyah.

      All my life I have been on a dairy farm taking turns with the rest of the family to milk the cows. I love most animals, except cows because they smell.

      I attend school in a town close to my own, called Cobram. I travel to school by bus and it takes about 45 minutes to get to school. The school I go to is called 'Christ the King Anglican College'. My younger sister also goes to the school. My school is rather small, but I like a small school because it means there are fewer students in each class. In my class there are 14 students. There would be about 105 students in the whole school. The teachers and students are great and are a lot of fun. My favorite subjects at school are: Art, Cooking, Japanese, and English. I think these are my favorite subjects because it shows my creative side and I like languages.

      I have 9 people in my family; 4 brothers, 2 sisters, Mum, Dad and myself. Now, only Mum, Dad, my younger sister and myself live together as my other siblings are older and have moved away. But they still visit a lot.

      My interests are Latin/American dancing, shopping, movies and music. I do my Latin/American dancing once a week. I travel to Shepparton to do my lessons, Some of my family members also attend. Cobram to Shepparton is 80 km, which is around 40 minutes. They have different groups and I do the Social one. The social group is a fun but social type group. They have another group, which is called 'Medals' which is a more serious group and some are champions.

      I also have a job at Ritchie's IGA supermarket, in my hometown. I only work twice a week but it is still good for extra spending money, but I try to save. Depending what day of the week it is, I can work from a 3-hour shift to an 8-hour shift. My job includes of serving customers at the checkouts and sometimes un-packing. I get paid $8 an hour.

      As I said before, I love to watch movies, shop, listen to music and to party, just like most girls. My favorite movies are: "Dude Where's My Car", Grease, Coyote Ugly and the Sweetest Thing. My favorite singers are Delta Goodrem, Robbie Williams and Enrique Iglasis. These are a few of the popular singers at the moment in Australia.

      In my opinion, I find myself to be a rather happy and cheerful person, who is a lot of fun. Out of my group of friends at school I am probably the 'Girlie Girl'. I think I am a fairly friendly and kind person who loves to smile. I also love life.

      In life, I try to achieve to do the best of my ability. When things don't go my way I get a little annoyed but I get over it rather quickly and move on. I'm NOT the type of person who gets frustrated or worried easy and take things pretty easy. However, I can be very sarcastic at times. When I do things I take my time and try not to stress.
