September 2005 No.5

In Takarabako No. 5, we introduced the TJF Photo Data Bank that reopened in May 2005 and activities designed for Japanese language classes using photos from the data bank.

In this issue, we would like to introduce activities that are linked to photos and sounds provided on the TJF website. In your lessons on onomatopoeia, students will see a photo of a dog as they listen to the sound of a dog barking, or a photo of someone cooking eggs as they hear the cracking of an egg.

Other activities include innovative types of activities that utilize photos from the TJF Photo Data Bank that capture young Japanese people's daily lives. Sounds from various scenes in the photos, a worksheet on the layout of a Japanese home, and much more are available on the website. We hope you will find ways to make use of these resources in your lessons.
