Spending time on our final photo selection was the most memorable part of the program for me. This was the first time I’d worked on a collaborative project, and I found myself stumped at times. Our team members from abroad commented on a photo I casually took of shoes thrown on top of a shoe locker. It’s a scene common enough at Japanese schools, but to them it was unusual. I understood then how interesting it can be to learn about each other’s cultures and lifestyles.
Through my participation in this program, I was able to see things from a broader perspective than before, and I took more photos than I ever had. With this experience under my belt, I hope to enter more photo contests to show different people my work.
