What is "Deai"?
Photo resources for learning
Japanese-language and culture
by meeting seven Japanese high school students
Developed primarily to assist secondary school students outside Japan who are studying Japanese as a foreign language, "Deai: The Lives of Seven Japanese High School Students" illuminates the personalities and daily lives of seven Japanese high school students through photographs and text. As language learners get to know these seven young people, they will become better acquainted with the culture that forms the backdrop of the lives of the seven students in Japan. They will also encounter many topics directly relevant to language learning and acquire lots of useful information to assist them in their efforts to communicate in Japanese. The Deai resources consist of the Deai Kit--containing sheets of photographs, a booklet, and two CD-ROMs--and the Deai website, which offers a wealth of information useful for teachers in planning classes and classroom activities. |
