授業中は思いついたことを何でも積極的に発言します。ほかの人たちはあまり発言しません。間違ったときは恥ずかしいけれど、その分覚えられると思っています。小学校のときからそんな感じでした。間違っても許される雰囲気があるのはいいなあと思います。でも、単にみんなの笑いをとろうと思って冗談を言ってることもかなりあります。
勉強は大切だと思います。ぼくは中学2年生ぐらいまで、そんなふうに考えたことはありませんでした。でも、何かを真剣にやろうとすると、学問がとても大切だということに気づかされます。勉強すると、基本的な読解力や総合的に判断する力を身につけることができます。それに、漢字が読めなかったら、歌詞を読むこともできません。

I'm not shy about speaking up in class and saying whatever I think about the topic at hand. The others in the class mostly keep quiet. Although it's embarrassing when I get something wrong, I think that just helps me absorb a topic properly. I've been like that since elementary school. I like the sort of atmosphere where it's okay to make mistakes. A lot of the time, though, I'm just cracking jokes to make everyone laugh.
I think studying is important. Up until my second year of junior high, I didn't think like that at all. But now I often notice that, if you're serious about doing something, then formal study is very important. Through study you can develop skills like basic reading comprehension and overall problem-solving. And besides, if I couldn't read kanji well I wouldn't be able to read the song lyrics I love so much.
