家族それぞれが自分の出かける時間にあわせて朝ご飯を食べます。ぼくはお父さんといっしょに食べることが多いです。ぼくからしゃべることはあまりありませんが、お父さんのほうから「勉強はどうだ」「受験勉強はどうだ」と話しかけてきます。ぼくは「うん」とか「まあまあ」とか短く答えます。
今日のメニューは、トースト、目玉焼き、グレープフルーツ、コーヒーです。朝食はいつもパンです。朝は時間がないので、15分くらいでさっさとすませます。
お母さんは毎朝、妹とぼくにおべんとうをつくってくれます。

Each of us eats breakfast separately, depending on when we leave the house. I often eat at about the same time as my father. I don't usually have much to say, but my father tries to get me talking by asking how my studies are going or how my preparations for the university exams are going. Not completely awake yet, I tend to respond in monosyllables, "Uh-huh" or "So, so," and such.
Today's breakfast is toast, an egg, grapefruit, and coffee. We always eat Western-style breakfasts. There isn't much time in the morning; I have to eat in about 15 minutes.
My mother makes bento (box lunches) every day for my sister and myself.
