学校の最寄り駅の甘地駅には、8時12分ごろ到着します。ひとつあとの電車だと遅刻してしまうので、この電車には市川高校の生徒がたくさん乗っています。
ぼくの利用するJR播但線は単線なので、上りと下りの電車がすれ違うために、途中駅で待ちあわせをします。平日の7時台は6本の電車が運行していますが、日中は利用客が少ないので1時間に1、2本しかありません。平日朝の下り列車は、乗客のほとんどが高校生です。沿線には高校が数校あり、高校ごとに違う車両を利用しています。だから、周りは同じ高校の生徒でいっぱいです。
通学に1時間ぐらいかかりますが、ぼくは友だちとおしゃべりする時間だとわりきって、楽しんでいます。

I get to Amaji Station, the closest station to the school, at about 8:12. If we miss this train, we're late for school, so this one is always full of Ichikawa High students.
The JR Bantan Line I take to get to school is a single-track line, so the outbound train often has to wait at stations along the way for the inbound train going the opposite way to pass. On weekdays six trains run between seven and eight o'clock in the morning to accommodate commuters and students, but during the day, there are only one or two trains per hour. There are a number of high schools along this line, so the trains going out of town in the morning are full of high school students. The students of each school tend to cluster in different cars, so we are surrounded by schoolmates.
Getting to school takes about an hour, but I figure it is a good time to talk to my friends, so I actually kind of enjoy it.
