Welcoming home: Ai meets me at the door |

今日は姫路駅の近くにある塾で勉強してから家に帰りました。玄関に入ると、たいていマルチーズのアイやモモが飛びだしてきます。動物たちといっしょに暮らすのはぼくにとってはとても自然なことで、ペットは家族と同じような存在です。
アイやモモの姿を見ると、家に帰ってきたんだなと思います。特別相手をしてやるわけではないのですが、ぼくがリビングでくつろいでいると、ひざに乗ってきたり、横で寝たりしています。

Today I go to my extra-study classes at a juku (cram school) near Himeji Station and then head home. When I come in the door, usually our two Maltese dogs, Ai and Momo, jump up to welcome me home. To me it's perfectly natural to be living with animals in the house; our pets are just like members of the family.
When I see Ai and Momo waiting to greet me, I can finally relax, knowing I'm home for the day. I don't give them particular attention, but when I go into the living room to relax, they'll sit on my lap or lie down next to me.
