この3人は、必要なときに助けあうことができる、かけがえのない友だちです。
【左】カンは優しくて、心が広くて、包容力のある人です。つきあいだした高校1年生のときから、いつも近くにいて支えてくれました。わたしにとっていちばん大切な彼であり、友だちであり、家族のようにも思える人です。2人とも気が強いので、けんかも数えきれないくらいしました。でも、本音を言いあえるということは、お互いに本当の自分を見せているということだから、けんかは疲れるけれど、ちょっとうれしくもあります。カンとつきあっていなかったら、こんなに楽しい高校生活を送ることはできなかったと思います。
【中】同じクラスのエリとは、生徒会の活動をしたことで、いっしょにいる時間が増えて、いっしょにいることがあたりまえになるくらい仲よくなりました。彼女のものごとに対する考えの深さや想像力の豊かさはすごいと思います。
【右】わたしが休学して1学年おくれたとき、ひとりぼっちにならずに過ごせたのは、マイが居場所をくれたからだと思います。マイは本当にかわいくて、いい子です。わたしとエリのアイドルです。3人でいたらこわいものなんてありません。彼女のいちばんすばらしいところは、天使のような優しさをもっているところです。

These three are my most precious friends. We're the kind who always help one another out when we need it.
[Left] Kan is gentle, broad-minded, and extremely generous. Since we started spending time together in first year, he's always been close and supportive. He's my boyfriend and my friend, a guy who is almost like family. But we're both rather strong-willed, so we've had countless quarrels. The fact that we can say what we really think to one another means that we are showing each other our real selves, so, although fighting is tiring, in fact it makes me kind of happy because it confirms our closeness. If I hadn't known Kan, high school probably wouldn't have been nearly so much fun for me.
[Center] Eri is in the same class as I and we once served on the student council, so we started spending more time together and got to be close friends without even thinking about it. I really admire the depth of her thinking about things and her wonderfully rich imagination.
[Right] When I was out of school for a time and dropped back a year, I was able to survive without feeling really lonely because Mai made a place for me. Mai is really a lovely, good person. She is Eri's and my idol. When we're together all three of us, we feel we can do anything. But the most amazing thing about Mai is her really angel-like sweetness.
