わたしは、2番めのお姉ちゃんのことを「ユゥソン姉ちゃん」って呼んでいます。ユゥソン姉ちゃんは医歯薬科系の大学をめざして、ただいま2浪中。わたしと同じ予備校の自習室で毎日勉強しています。年齢がひとつ違いということもあって、家族のなかでいちばん近い存在です。いつも何かしら2人でしゃべっていますが、すぐけんかになります。最近になって、やっとけんかの回数が減ってきました。ユゥソン姉ちゃんもわたしもお笑いが好きで、よくお笑いの話で盛りあがります。ユゥソン姉ちゃんは家族のなかでいちばん頭がよくて、わたしとは大違いです。
これは、2人で枝豆を切って、ゆでる準備をしながら、いつものようにおしゃべりしているところです。

I call my second eldest sister Yoo Sun-nechan. Determined to get into dental school, she is in her second year as a ronin, studying for the entrance examinations. We study together everyday in the study room at the same yobiko (prep school). We're only a year apart in age, so she's the person I'm closest to in the family. We're always chatting about something but we are quick to get into quarrels. Only recently have our quarrels finally become less frequent. Both Yoo Sun-nechan and I love comedy and we love to talk about the subject. She is a really good student and probably the smartest of the whole family--a big difference from me.
Here we're removing green soybean pods from the stalks and getting ready to boil them, jabbering the whole time, as usual.
