Some restaurants, serving specialties such as soba (そば a type of Japanese noodles), unagi(うなぎ eel) dishes, or Chinese food, will make home deliveries. Orders are placed by telephone, and the dishes served in durable utensils from the shop. Shop staff return later to pick up the empty dishes. The typical food delivery services are for families, but upscale establishments, such as eel restaurants, will also cater for receptions and parties.
