The overall theme of the class on "human beings and the industrial society" is understanding ourselves. In this class we do things like listen to a song and think about the meaning of the lyrics and link it to our images of ourselves in the future or practice introducing another person--an experience that makes you think again about yourself. We often have invited speakers come to talk about specific subjects and various field trips such as to see a tofu maker at work. The idea is to help us think about what kind of work we want to do and what future course we should take. The content is rich and diverse, so I really enjoy this class.
