An elderly woman we met at the Peace Memorial Park who was a survivor of the atomic bomb smiled at us as she recounted in realistic detail the day the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. I became convinced that in order for peace to prevail, young people must continue telling these stories so that we will never forget what happened in the past.
Daniel is a very good photographer with a particular way of taking pictures, and took a lot of great photos. The concept for our project, however, was not well articulated when we started our photographing, and only later did we finally define it more carefully. I regret that we could not include more of Daniel’s photos in the final 25 that we selected.
I’ve gained self-confidence through the encounters with my team members and the other people we became close to during the program, and have grown to think more positively about my future.
