Hanabata Sensei and the Kogei High School Photography Club did a fabulous job in hosting the Osaka team and giving us tours of Osaka. The ojisan and obachan always greeted me with warm smiles and the city was very accommodating to our photography project. Whether talking to kids about Yu-Gi-Oh cards, speaking with the priest at the temple by the bridge, or encouraging the gymnasts with their English (which they were very good at), I felt a connection with the Osakans that makes me want to go back to Osaka again!
This project showed that with hard work comes great reward. Lately, at school, I have been working very hard so I can go to a great college that has a great Japanese study abroad program. I use my spare time to study more Japanese (especially grammar and verbs), and help out the Japanese Level 1 class so they can get excited about going to Japan, too.
