At the fish market early in the morning of our fourth day.
At the Shiogama Nakaoroshi wholesale market, we see a number of shops with posters
of Korean celebrities! One woman brings out a magazine of Korean stars and gets
all fired up talking about the stories.
The participants go back to one of the sake breweries they had stopped by the
previous day. This is where steamed rice and rice malt are mixed together. Everyone
is surprised to hear that the temperature of the room reaches 50 degrees Celsius.
In the afternoon, the team starts preparing for their final presentation.
The girls try to choose which of the two photos of the kamaboko (fish cake) shop better expresses the woman’s affection for her husband. They take a step back
for another look.
Kyungju and the other three members disagree during the photo selection process.
“I can’t quite express it in words, but this one feels right,” says Kyungju.
Then the others try to help her express her thoughts verbally by asking questions
like, “What do you like about it?” and “Is it the direction of the subject’s
gaze?”
