The team walks around Shobara to shoot photos.
Shobara’s
landscape is abundant and green, with beautiful, lush rice paddies.
There
is an area in the park where visitors can play with traditional Japanese toys.
Emily takes a crack at spinning a top.
Non-chan
plays with a kendama (cup and ball). A graduate of Shobara Kakuchi Senior High
who was in the photography club, she recorded the team’s activities on film as
its photographer.
The
team takes a break on the veranda with bottles of soda.
Mrs.
Tanabe, advisor emeritus of the photography club. Her cheery personality kept
everyone smiling.
Going
down a slide makes one feel like a kid again. Photos turn out better when you’re
having fun.
The
team gets on a bus to Onomichi, a beautiful city on the Seto Inland Sea.
A ropeway
carries the group up to Senkoji, a Buddhist temple. At the mountaintop everyone
takes in the breathtaking view.
The
hills of Onomichi are often portrayed in movies. Every one of its many alleys
is picturesque.

try to take photos of a cat by lying down and bringing themselves to the cat’s
eye level.
Everyone
starts to look exhausted, but the photo selection process continues late into
the night.
