Project Report : Hiroshima

Heading to the Peace Memorial Park at eight in the morning.
Looks like today will be another scorcher.
Children read the declaration of peace. On this day 62 years ago, the atomic
bomb was dropped.
When the bell strikes at 8:15, people replicate a scene of victims lying dead
from the atomic bomb as a statement for peace.
Sawako quietly photographs people in prayer.
Daniel photographs people demonstrating. People with various views gather at
the Park.
Is there anyone who cannot help but feel one’s heart soften in the presence of
a child? “Hello! May I take your picture?”
Kosuke listens earnestly to an old woman talking about her experience of the
atomic bomb.
The shoot ends a little after noon. Everyone had been on their feet for four
hours.
The team heads to Shobara by bus.
Team members do a homestay with members from the Shobara Kakuchi Senior High
School photography club. Daniel is all smiles in the jinbei he receives as a
gift.
