Worksheets and other materials:
Note1

Divide the class into six groups and ask each group choose one student from the six students other than Sakai Michi. Give each group the photographs, captions, and “My Family” section of “My Story” for the student they chose. Have the students work together in their group to gather information on the family of the student they have been assigned using the family photographs and texts.

Have the students in groups, referring to Note 1, think about how to introduce the family of the student assigned them. Then have them introduce the family to the other groups, while showing the photographs. The students listening to the presentations should be encouraged to ask questions about things they don't understand or what to know more about. The members of each group, referring to the information they have gathered, should do their best to answer in Japanese. For things they do not have information about, they should use their imaginations and give answers ending with “と思います” (I think...).

After the presentations, have the students comment on what they found interesting about the families.
